State Housing Authority Announces October Trust Fund Awards - 10/22/2003
The Board of Commissioners for the South Carolina State Housing Finance and Development Authority recently approved $153,639.00 in Trust Fund awards at their regular monthly meeting. These awards are for the acquisition, rehabilitation, and/or construction of 15 properties throughout Lee, Orangeburg, Horry, Spartanburg, Oconee, Charleston, Richland, Beaufort, Barnwell, and Sumter counties.
The awards are as follows:
· Edisto Habitat for Humanity - $10,750 for the construction of a three-bedroom home located in Orangeburg to house a very low-income family at or below 50 percent of the county median income.
· Habitat for Humanity of Horry County, Inc. - $11,500 for the construction of a three-bedroom home in Myrtle Beach to be occupied by a very low-income family.
· Habitat for Humanity of Spartanburg, Inc. - $10,000 for the construction of a three bedroom home in Una for a lower income family below 80 percent but above 50 percent of the county median income.
· Oconee County Habitat for Humanity - $10,000 for the construction of a three bedroom home in Seneca to be occupied by a lower income family.
· Spartanburg Residential Development Corporation - $11,500 for the construction of a three-bedroom home in Spartanburg to house a lower income family.
· Sea Island Habitat for Humanity - $40,000 for the construction two 3-bedroom homes located on Johns Island to be occupied by lower income families.
· Community Assistance Provider, Inc. - $10,400 for the acquisition of a three-bedroom home in Columbia to be occupied by a lower income individual.
· Lowcountry Community Development Corporation (CDC) - $20,000 for the acquisition of a three-bedroom home in Bluffton for a lower income family.
· Voorhees Denmark Community Development Corporation - $11,500 for the acquisition of a three-bedroom home located in Denmark to house a lower income family.
· Santee Lynches Affordable Housing and CDC - $17,989 for the rehabilitation of five 3-bedroom homes located in Bishopville, Mayesville and Sumter to house very low income families and individuals.
Proceeds awarded by the Trust Fund cannot exceed approximately 50 percent of the total development cost of the project and can only be used to serve households that are at or below 80 percent of the county median income.
