Trust Fund Awards made by State Housing Authority - 1/10/2002
The Board of Commissioners for the South Carolina State Housing Finance and Development Authority recently approved $756,450 in Trust Fund awards at their regular monthly meeting. These awards are for the acquisition, rehabilitation, and/or construction of 15 properties throughout Allendale, Berkeley, Clarendon, Charleston, Orangeburg, Greenwood, Georgetown, Horry, Spartanburg, Lee, and Bamberg counties.
The awards are as follows:
Southeastern Housing Foundation - $27,500 for the acquisition of two 3-bedroom homes located in Allendale and St. Stephens. These homes will be occupied by a very low- income family at or below 50 percent of the county median income and a low-income family at or below 80 percent but above 50 percent of the county median income.
Scott’s Branch 76 Foundation - $20,000 for the acquisition and rehabilitation of a three-bedroom home in Manning for a very low-income family.
Charleston Habitat for Humanity - $20,000 for the construction of a four-bedroom home in Charleston to house a very low-income family.
Edisto Habitat for Humanity, Inc. - $20,000 for the construction of a three-bedroom home in Orangeburg to be occupied by a very low-income family.
Greenwood Area Habitat for Humanity - $60,000 for the construction of three 3-bedroom houses located in Greenwood to house very low-income families.
Habitat for Humanity of Georgetown County - $40,000 for the construction of two 3-bedroom homes located in Georgetown to be occupied by very low-income families.
Habitat for Humanity of Horry County, Inc. - $20,000 for the construction of a 3-three bedroom house located in Conway and $20,000 for the construction of a four-bedroom house in Conway. Very low-income families will occupy these homes.
Habitat for Humanity of Spartanburg, Inc. - $10,000 for the construction of a three-bedroom home in Una for a very low-income family.
Santee Lynches Regional Council of Governments - $10,000 for the rehabilitation of a three-bedroom home located in Rembert to be occupied by a lower income family.
Voorhees Denmark Community Development Corporation (CDC) - $2,700 for the rehabilitation of a house to house a very low-income disabled family, and $6,250 for the rehabilitation of a three-bedroom home to be occupied by a lower income family. These homes are located in Denmark.
The Walker Foundation, Inc. - $500,000 for the rehabilitation of a 48-bedroom dormitory in Spartanburg to house very-low income disabled individuals.
The Housing Trust Fund can only be used to serve households that are at or below 80 percent of the county median income. Proceeds awarded by the Trust Fund cannot exceed approximately 50 percent of the total development cost of the project.
