State Housing Authority Announces Deputy Director of Programs - 5/5/2008
[Columbia, SC] The South Carolina State Housing Finance and Development Authority recently named Roy Tucker, Jr. to Deputy Director of Programs. Tucker brings with him an extensive background in State Government.
As Deputy Director for Programs, Tucker is responsible for the managerial oversight of the program areas of the Authority that include Contract Administration, Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program, South Carolina Housing Trust Fund, HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), and the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program.
“Roy’s extensive experience in government will complement our mission as we work toward meeting the changing affordable housing needs of our citizens,” said Valarie Williams, Executive Director for the Authority. “We are pleased that he agreed to join the Authority as we proceed into these changing economic times,” she added.
Tucker, a resident of Columbia, has over 15 years of service with the State of South Carolina including serving as Deputy Director for Mass Transit for the South Carolina Department of Transportation. He served 21 years in the United States Army and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Tucker holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from South Carolina State University and an MBA from the Florida Institute of Technology.
