State Housing Authority Announces Trust Fund Awards - 10/28/2004
[Columbia, SC] The Board of Commissioners for the South Carolina State Housing Finance and Development Authority recently approved $576,155.91 in Trust Fund awards at their regular monthly meeting. These awards are for the acquisition, rehabilitation, and/or construction of 18 properties throughout Charleston, Beaufort, Oconee, Pickens, Williamsburg, Orangeburg, Richland, Dorchester, and Spartanburg counties.
The awards are as follows:
Hilton Head Regional Habitat for Humanity - $60,000 for the construction of three 3-bedroom homes located in Beaufort to house very low income families at or below 50 percent of the county median income.
Charleston Bank Consortium - $21,500 for the acquisition of a three-bedroom home in Charleston to be occupied by a very low income family.
East Cooper Habitat for Humanity - $30,357.16 for the construction of two 3-bedroom homes located in Mt Pleasant to house very low income families.
Oconee County Habitat for Humanity - $10,000 for the construction of a three- bedroom home in Seneca to be occupied by a very low income family.
Lowcountry Housing and Economic Development Foundation, Inc. - $41,850 for the acquisition of 2 three bedroom homes located in Ladson and James Island to be occupied low income individuals at or below 80 percent of the county median income.
Pickens County Habitat for Humanity - $23,000 for the construction of two 3-bedroom homes located in Liberty and Clemson to be occupied by very low income families.
Community Assistance Provider, Inc. - $16,261 for the rehabilitation of a three-bedroom home in Columbia to house a very low income family.
Claflin University, CDC - $256,869.75 for the rehabilitation of 18 homes located in Santee, Cope, St. Matthews, Holy Hill, and Branchville to be occupied by very low income families.
Sea Island Habitat for Humanity - $20,000 for the construction of a three-bedroom home located on Johns Island to house a very low income family.
Lowcountry Community Development Corporation (CDC) - $21,500 for the acquisition of a two-bedroom home in Bluffton to be occupied by a very low income family.
Williamsburg Enterprise Community Commission, Inc. - $11,500 for the construction of a three-bedroom home located in Kingstree for a very low income family.
C.L.C. Accessible Living, Inc. - $20,879 for the construction of an extra bedroom on three single family units to be occupied very low income special needs individuals.
C.L.C. Inman Estates, Inc. - $67,117 for the construction of extra bedrooms on two single family units in Spartanburg to be occupied by very low income special needs individuals.
Capital for the Housing Trust Fund is generated by the documentary stamp tax. Proceeds awarded by the Trust Fund cannot exceed approximately 50 percent of the total development cost of the project and can only be used to serve households that are at or below 80 percent of the county median income.
