PUBLIC NOTICE: Emergency Housing Vouchers

The Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) program is available through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Through EHV, The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is providing 70,000 housing choice vouchers to local Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) in order to assist individuals and families who are:

  • Homeless,
  • At risk of homelessness,
  • Fleeing, or attempting to flee, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking, or
  • Were recently homeless or have a high risk of housing instability.

SC Housing has been awarded 259 EHVs and partnered with three local Continuums of Care (CoC) to administer the EHV program in the following counties: Clarendon, Colleton, Dorchester, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lee and Lexington.

If you believe you may be eligible for EHV assistance and wish to apply, you must contact your local CoC for assistance and direct referral.

  1. Midlands Area Consortium for the Homeless (Fairfield and Lexington counties)
  2. Lowcountry Continuum of Care/One80 Place
