In December 2006, Tracey Easton was named general counsel at the SC State Housing Finance & Development Authority (SC Housing), where she provides leadership and oversight for the Legal and Compliance and Quality Control departments. In this role, Easton provides legal advice and legal support to the agency and all divisions. She also acts as Issuer’s Counsel for SC Housing’s tax-exempt bonds. From September 2004 until December 2006, she was Associate Counsel where she provided legal advice and legal support to agency divisions.
Prior to her joining SC Housing, Easton was engaged in the private practice of law. In this role, she provided legal advice and legal support to corporate clients and individual clients. Additionally, she assisted a senior partner in insurance lobbying efforts.
Earlier in her career, Easton was an Assistant Attorney General at the South Carolina Office of the Attorney General.
Easton holds a bachelor of arts in history and political science from Newberry College, a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law, and has her Associate Public Manager and Certified Public Manager Certifications from the State of South Carolina. Additionally, Easton is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM).
